Why it’s more than a warm wrap

A binder squeezes the surface. Light reaches the tissue underneath.

A postpartum wrap can hold you in, but it can’t do anything for the skin and tissue that are actually recovering. Red and near-infrared light passes through the skin to the layers underneath, where research suggests it lifts cell energy, calms inflammation and supports new collagen.

Red and near-infrared light is absorbed in the tissue. Research suggests it raises ATP, the energy cells use to repair, eases inflammation and prompts new collagen. It is the same family of light used in clinics to support recovery, which is why it feels less like a gadget and more like a hand on the shoulder.

What the research found

Three things the research measured.

Firmer skin, a smaller waistline, and the mechanism the body uses to recover. Here is the published evidence for red-light therapy, with the journal and the number of people behind each result. Gentle support, measured, not a promise.

After 15 weeks

In a controlled trial, red light measurably raised the skin’s collagen density (confirmed by ultrasound) and left it smoother and firmer. Skin that has been stretched appreciates the help.

In a placebo-controlled trial, the light group lost 2.15 cm from the waist in four weeks, while the control group slightly gained. The mummy tummy is exactly this area.

Red light lifts ATP, the energy cells use to repair, and lowers inflammatory signals. It is the mechanism clinics use to support recovery and calm tissue after it has been through a lot.

How it compares

Gentle where you need gentle. Everything in one belt.

Not a wrap that just holds you in. Not a tea you have to swallow. Here is how the Exoh belt lines up against the things new mums usually reach for.

Exoh Belt Belly wrap Slimming teas Clinic sessions
Drug-free, nothing to swallow
Reaches the tissue, not just the surface
Works while you rest, while baby naps
No clinic visits, use it at home
One-off cost, use it for years
Also soothes cramps, aches & tension

Thirty minutes, a few times a week

Strap it on. Lie down. That’s the whole routine.

  1. Wrap it around your tummy. Adjustable velcro, 130cm long, so it sits gently over the midsection, over pyjamas or bare skin. Plug it into the wall, or clip on the optional battery pack and feed the baby while it runs.
  2. Choose your setting. Continuous for a steady, calming session, or the pulse modes. Set the intensity low and the timer on the controller. Low and gentle is the whole idea.
  3. Do nothing for thirty minutes. Close your eyes. Scroll. Let someone else hold the baby. The belt runs 105 LEDs at 660nm and 850nm across a 14×50cm panel, then switches itself off.

First, the important bit.

Wait until after your six-week postnatal check and your doctor or midwife has cleared you, and keep the belt off any unhealed C-section incision or stitches until they have fully healed. Do not use it during pregnancy. When in doubt, ask your doctor first, always.

Honest expectations

What tends to happen, and when.

Recovery is not a race, and no belt changes that. This is what customers most commonly report, not a promise, and everyone’s timeline is their own.

  • The first sessions Thirty minutes that are only yours A gentle, even warmth across the whole panel while the baby naps. Nothing dramatic. Often the calm is the first thing mums mention.
  • A few weeks in The tummy feels less tight Most mums notice comfort and clothes sitting a little differently before they notice anything in the mirror. This is usually where it starts.
  • Six to eight weeks Where the before-and-afters happen Used gently a few nights a week, this is when customers tend to share their photos. Slow and kind beats fast and forced, every time.

Give it a month. On your terms.

Once you’re cleared to start, use it gently through those early weeks. Thirty days is long enough to know whether it earns its spot on your couch.

If it doesn’t, email hi@exohwellness.com and we’ll refund you in full. No arguing your case. Every electrical component is covered for a year on top of that.

Before you ask

The questions new mums ask us most.

I’ve just had a baby. When can I start?

After your six-week postnatal check, and once your doctor or midwife has cleared you to start. Please don’t use it during pregnancy, and start low and gentle. There is no prize for rushing, and we’d always rather you asked your doctor first.

I had a C-section. Can I use it on the scar?

Not on the incision itself until it is fully healed and your doctor has cleared you. Never use it on an open or healing wound or over stitches. Once everything has healed, many mums wear it over the tummy for comfort and for the skin, but please check with your doctor about your own situation first.

Is it safe while I’m breastfeeding?

We’re not able to give you medical advice, so please ask your doctor, who knows your situation. What we can say is that it’s drug-free and worn on the outside of the body, there is nothing to swallow and nothing going into your milk.

Will it fix my mummy tummy or ab separation?

Honestly: it can support the skin and the tummy area, research on red light shows more collagen and a smaller waistline, but it is not a cure for abdominal separation. For diastasis recti, please see a women’s health physiotherapist. Think of the belt as gentle help alongside proper care, and results vary from person to person.

Does it get hot? Could it burn me?

It produces a gentle warmth, not heat. It isn’t a heating pad; the warmth is a by-product of the LEDs. Customers describe it as “slightly warm” and “soothing.” Intensity is adjustable on the controller and it switches itself off on a timer.

How long until I notice something?

Most mums mention the calm and comfort first, within the first sessions. Clothes tend to sit differently in a few weeks, and the visible before-and-after photos usually come around six to eight weeks of gentle, consistent use.

Can I use it for anything besides recovery?

Yes. The same belt is used for period cramps, back and joint aches, muscle recovery and skin. Once the baby years pass, it keeps earning its place.

What if it doesn’t work for me?

Email hi@exohwellness.com within 30 days and we’ll refund you in full. You don’t need to argue your case. We’d rather have your trust than your $139.

Safety, results & medical disclaimer

The Exoh™ Red Light Therapy Belt is a consumer wellness device. It is not a medical treatment and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease or condition, including anything related to pregnancy, birth recovery, wound healing or abdominal separation. Do not use during pregnancy, on open or unhealed wounds, incisions or stitches, and only begin after your postnatal check and your doctor’s clearance. Statements about red and near-infrared light describe published research into photobiomodulation and low-level light therapy as a category; those studies used low-level laser or LED and measured skin, collagen or waist circumference, and no clinical trial has been conducted on this specific belt. Before-and-after photos are individual customer results, are not typical or guaranteed, and depend on many factors. Individual results vary. Nothing here is medical advice. Consult a qualified healthcare professional before use, especially while pregnant or postpartum, if you have a medical condition or implant, a photosensitive condition, or take medication that increases light sensitivity.

One last thing

You spend all day holding everyone else.

Thirty minutes on the couch, a little warmth across the part of you that did the most, is not a lot to ask. Your recovery is allowed to be yours, and it’s allowed to be gentle.
